Back-end PHP or Drupal Developer

Progressive, independent studio with great work environment seeks like-minded Back-end Developer with a love for great work! If you have experience in open source technology - Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP - the drive to build great websites, and want to grow your career - come and join us!

Sparks Interactive is part of the open source and Drupal communities in New Zealand with offices in Auckland and Wellington. Our staff designs, develops, and supports small to enterprise size websites across both the public and private sectors, and we are looking for a LAMP developer to join our team in Wellington - experience in Drupal is not mandatory but a definite plus.

You'll be working with large scale site development and migrations, API and external app integrations. These will be primarily for our public sector clients in Wellington, including highly visible and heavily trafficked sites that provide important services for New Zealanders and international audiences. This will also cover Sparks’ contribution to and work with government design systems and Sparks’ Sector Drupal distribution (https://www.sector.nz/).

You will be working on a mature, modern and progressive codebase with the opportunity for significant open source contribution, this is not your grandparents Drupal!

Building on the foundations of a mature codebase and long-standing well-managed open source project, our work is at the leading edge of CMS and Digital Experience Platform development. We are committed to progressive practices and there is considerable scope to "choose your own path" in terms of career development and direction. If you're interested in working across the stack we have a considerable appetite for javascript framework skills such as React.
